Ozone Therapy (O3)
Ozone is an antimicrobial agent that kills bacteria, fungi, and viruses on contact. It also stimulates our own body’s response to healing. It is produced in-office using a medical-grade ozone generator. Ozone therapy uses activated oxygen molecules to treat a wide range of dental issues and can be applied in its gaseous form directly to teeth and gums or bubbled through water and different plant oils as a rinse.
Ozone therapy can:
-
Kill periodontal bacteria by flushing ozonated water below the gumline
-
Kill decay-causing bacteria on contact
-
Reduce and eliminate tooth sensitivity and harden weakened tooth structure
-
Reduce post-op discomfort
-
Create a truly sterile, bacteria-free environment during root canal therapy to prevent reinfection of the canals
-
Speed up healing after dental procedures
-
Treat halitosis, canker sores, cold sores, and other oral maladies
-
Remineralize existing tooth structure. This “rebuilt” tooth structure is more resistant to decay than the original tooth structure.
